Faith Formation

WELCOME TO FAITH FORMATION AT HOLY CROSS!

At Holy Cross, we believe that faith starts at home—and we’re here to walk alongside you every step of the way! Our mission is to support parents as they guide their children in growing closer to God and learning what it means to live out our beautiful Catholic faith.

Our dedicated team of catechists are passionate about creating a welcoming, fun, and faith-filled environment where kids and teens can explore Catholic teachings, traditions, and values—all while building a personal relationship with Jesus.

We offer engaging, age-appropriate classes for children and teens in Grades K–11, filled with activities, discussions, and hands-on learning that bring our faith to life. Every lesson is designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and help kids feel a true sense of belonging in our parish family.

A few notes about Sacramental Preparation
To help you plan ahead, please keep in mind:

  • 1st Grade is required in order to begin preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion in 2nd Grade.

  • 10th Grade is required in order to begin preparation for Confirmation in 11th Grade. 

  • Families with children attending Catholic school do not need to register for Faith Formation classes for these grades, as faith formation is provided through their school. However, Sacramental Preparation is still completed through the parish program.  

  • All 11th grade student's, including those enrolled in Catholic high schools, are required to attend weekly Confirmation preparation classes on Wednesday evenings at the parish. These classes follow the Faith Formation calendar (see below), along with several additional important dates listed on the Confirmation calendar. Catholic school students do not need to register for the full Faith Formation program, but they must register for “Sacrament Prep Only” and fully participate in the parish Confirmation program.

Weekly Faith Formation Newsletter
Each week during the school year, registered families will receive a newsletter from the Faith Formation Office via Flocknote. It’s your go-to source for class topics, upcoming events, and important calendar updates. (Not getting it? Changed your email? Let us know so we can keep you in the loop!)

Earn Tuition Credit with SCRIP!
Did you know you can earn credit toward your Faith Formation tuition just by shopping with gift cards? Our SCRIP program allows families to purchase gift cards for everyday expenses—like groceries, gas, dining out, or gifts—and a portion of each purchase goes back to you as a tuition credit. It’s a simple, year-round way to support Holy Cross while lowering your costs. 

Be Part of Something Special!
We’re always on the lookout for kind-hearted, faith-filled individuals to join our team as Catechists, Small Group Leaders, or Substitutes for Grades K–11. No theology degree required—just a love for God and a willingness to share it! Lesson plans, materials, and support are provided to ensure you feel confident and prepared.

Bonus: Catechists receive free tuition for their children enrolled in the program!
